What it was like?

It was like being trapped in a never ending brainstorm of emotions. I couldn't stand being alone in my own company. I would use alcohol as an escape to temporarily numb my feelings and slow down my racing thoughts.

What happened?

Those emotions that I kept bottled up grew so big that I wasn't able to keep them contained anymore. I broke down a few times before finally breaking off my toxic relationship with booze for good. I had to learn how to deal with issues from my past in order to be able to heal and let go of the fear and resentments holding me back from living the life I deserve.

What it is like now?

I've learned so much about myself in the past 9 years and continue to grow spiritually day by day. I worked with a spiritual coach who guided me through inner child healing of my past. Although I still struggle with moderation I've traded my negative addictions for positive ones. I'm finally able to sit in quiet and still my mind. Being at peace is the greatest feeling in the world. Sobriety has changed my life in so many ways.
