Name: Morgan Smith

Age: 31

Sober Since: 03 / 17 / 2022

Sober For: 2 Years & 305 Days

What it was like?

It was pure hell. I was a slave to meth from the age of 19. I had experimented with other drugs as well and by the end of my last (and hopefully my last ever) relapse I was IV using both meth and heroin everyday.

What happened?

My addiction had lead me to legal troubles early on and thankfully my record was expunged, but that wasn’t enough to stop me. Overdosing 3 times wasn’t enough to stop me. With my 5th inpatient rehab and ongoing outpatient treatment and a move to whole new state, this is longest I have been clean since I was 14 years old!

What it is like now?

Life is amazing. I have a supportive husband and 4 amazing kids. My worst days today are better than my best days when I was using. I am truly grateful for each and every day. I have graduated college and started my career and accomplished so much since being clean. I wouldn’t trade the stability and peace I have now for anything.
