Name: Robert

Age: 37

Sober Since: 01 / 17 / 2019

Sober For: 5 Years & 73 Days

What it was like?

My original sober date was March 25, 2012. I was sober for almost 6 years when I picked up again. For a year I was out there and it was extremely difficult being caught in the grips of addiction once again after being sober for so long and diligently Working the program. I had my family virtually homeless and I had burned through our entire bank account to support my addiction.

What happened?

My wife was ready to leave me and take our son and thankfully my wife and my friends in alcoholics anonymous came in literally carried me back to meetings and have stayed by my side since January 17 and help me every step of the way to get back on track now. It was extremely difficult and humbling to come back into the rooms and admit I had fallen once again. Although I continued to show up on a daily basis.

What it is like now?

Since January so many wonderful things of happened! My wife and I have an amazing marriage now which created a beautiful living environment for our son, I changed careers and I am again working the program on a daily basis. I am so blessed that God my higher power has given me the grace to correct an amend my horrible behavior in active addiction so for God I am grateful!
