What it was like?

I was an alcoholic.You think everything is fine. Little do you know life is slipping away from you piece by piece. When you realize what is actually happening, it's gone.

What happened?

I lost my job, the place my family and I lived in, and was in danger of losing my children. These are just a few of the things I experienced in my long ordeal with alcoholism. Rehab, loss of trust from friends and family, and quitting and starting up again just to name a few more. I think others that have gone through this know the story. I went through some serious darkness.

What it is like now?

What worked for me was some tough love from my wife and giving myself to Jesus. Since making that decision my life has taken a 180 degree turn in every aspect. It still hurts when I look back and think of all the things I said, thought, and did. Those things however are just that, reminders of how things could be again. Staying focused on God and giving my family 100% of my time and love keeps me from ever going back to that life. Life is amazing now and I'll never allow myself to return to that person that I was.
