Name: Jess C

Age: 48

Sober Since: 12 / 11 / 2015

Sober For: 8 Years & 139 Days

What it was like?

My kids hated me and wanted nothing to do with me, I had lost my job and was looking at losing the career altogether. I had no driver's license, my house was in foreclosure and I was looking at jail possibly prison time.

What happened?

I called the AA Hotline in Yuma, AZ and an angel named Diane P agreed to pick me up for a meeting the next day and took me every day until I could get to one myself. She told me to read the big book, and I did and she told me I didn't ever have to drink again even if I wanted to.

What it is like now?

At 3 years sober I was hired back by the same guy who fired me for being drunk on the job. I have my career, I have a driver's license and a new house. But most importantly my kids WANT to talk to me and I have a new family who has never seen me drunk. My life is 100 times better without that drink.
