What it was like?

It was an isolated and scary life High anxiety and at an early age I used alcohol to cope and navigate through life it was normal to drink in my family However I had an instant allergy and obsession blacked out and it affected all relationships and aspects of my life

What happened?

I was brought to a meeting with a friend and learned at age 20 there was another way if I didn’t give myself this gift I would never get anything in life job life respect stability

What it is like now?

That was march 15 -1983 the last drink I had and I am so glad I have had a 20 year working career I have been married for 35 years I have so many friends and supports today a full and balanced life At age 61 I started a recovery podcast Life Beyond Our Wildest Dreams and interview people with all paths of recovery to share their stories and inspire others …I am very grateful today at age 63 I can give back in this way …recovery has given me all I have
