What it was like?
You lose sight when the fun becomes necessity and then what follows is hell on earth. I was always alone, depressed, hiding, smoking crack afraid to be seen. I hated my self and I judge me harshly and I wanted to die.
What happened?
The first time I tried to die I O.D.ed and the second time I tried to die I tied a cord to my neck and the door handle and just leaned on my knees until I went to sleep. Then I woke up. The door handle had been ripped off. God said no, i have a purpose for you still. My face was all messed up, blood vessels all popped but I was alive. The next day I called Teen Challenge and went as an adult of 40 and haven't looked back since except to tell my story.
What it is like now?
Life is so good!!! To give thanks for new life given I created a facebook group through Gods guidance called NeverHungry Saskatoon where we help those in need of food and toiletries. This was something I struggled with and always needed help but had no where to go and was embarrased to do so anyway. So, now my purpose is to help others in all ways if possible. To help with food for nourishment and also the food for the soul God offers to us all. Matthew 25:35 I was hungry and you gave me drink, I was thirsty and you gave me food I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I see only humanity. All of us deserve love and kindness and we should all work to be better at it because when you find the light in yourself, the darkness can no longer win!
