What it was like?

Sobriety is the best feeling ever! I feel like a completely different and much better person.

What happened?

I tried several times to give up the alcohol addiction and made my way to rehab 3 times and the last straw for me was immediately following rehab I went to a sober living facility for a year. While in my last week there I received a call that my mother was not in good condition and I needed to get there. When I arrived she was in a comma and all her body functions were shutting down. I held her hand and whispered in her ear a promise to never drink again. I knew she could hear me. She then passed away. I made a promise that I will never break.

What it is like now?

I actually have a life now that is purposeful and reaching goals and achievements that I never thought I would. I thank my Mother and God everyday for my continued sobriety.
