What it was like?

The people, parties and fun times of my teens and 20s gave way to a drug and alcohol fueled hell and isolation that almost ended my life.

What happened?

I wrote a suicide note and decided to challenge God and fate by reaching out and asking for help one more time. My cry for help was answered and I was taken to the hospital and then inpatient treatment.

What it is like now?

I love my life. I'm happy and even useful to those around me. My girlfriend is back in my life. My parents want to see me. My sister, her husband and her beautiful children love and support me and are happy to see me. My job, my house, my friends -- all are a result of working an AA program and going to meetings.
