You May Be Surprised To Find Out These 15 Celebrities Don’t Drink

Whether they’ve struggled with an addiction or had a bad experience, or just had one too many, some of our favorite celebrities are just like us, and have chosen to abstain or get sober from drinking all together. While it’s easy to imagine a life in Hollywood of bubbles and booze, these 15 celebrities prove that you can still live the high life without being drunk or high.

      Chris Martin

When Coldplay was making their first album, Parachutes, he forced himself to booze to the point of vomiting as penance for briefly kicking drummer Will Champion out of the band. He wrote one of Coldplay’s hits, Trouble, while huddled in a recording studio cupboard. Since then, the lead singer of Coldplay has put down the booze.

      Kendrick Lamar

In a 2013 interview with GQ, the rapper revealed that he doesn’t drink or do drugs despite the lyrics in his songs. Growing up in a household full of substance abuse made the rapper want to become more of an advocate for substance abuse, rather than one that partakes in it.

      Mike Posner

In a 2015 tweet from the “Cooler Than Me” singer, with a link to an article about why he stopped drinking, Posner stated that he had a multiple negative patterns surrounding alcohol. In the article, the singer/songwriter states, “I decided I couldn’t let alcohol rob me of enjoying my life’s special moments.”

      Natalie Portman

According to multiple reports, the actress has swore off alcohol at the end of her college career.

      Tyler, The Creator

According to a Rolling Stone interview, the rapper states he’s “always” been sober.

      Rumer Willis

In 2017, the star revealed on Instagram that her decision to become sober wasn’t out of a necessary, but more that she stayed abstinent for a month and decided to keep it going.

      Tim McGraw

The country star has now been sober for over 10 years after battling a long battle with alcoholism.

      Kathy Griffin

Griffin stated in an interview that since she experienced a choking incident with beer when she was a child, she hasn’t had a drink since.

      Brandon Flowers

The Killers frontman disclosed that partaking in heavy alcohol use during the early years of the band’s success swayed him to decide the path he wanted to take when he became a father. Now, within the past number of years, Flowers has embraced a sober way of life.

      50 Cent

In an interview with Piers Morgan, the rapper stated that while he sold drugs as a teen to get by, he never used drugs or drank because it just “didn’t agree” with him.

      Colin Farrell

Farrell first struggled with an addiction when he started out in Hollywood. Though, now sober, the actor opened up to Ellen about celebrating 10 years of sobriety in 2017. Today, he states, “I do a bit of yoga, I like a nice hike and I drink dragon nasal juice.”

      Christina Ricci

The actress “went through a normal kind of late teens, early 20s drinking,”  but chose to give up drinking in 2008, because she stated, “I didn’t think it was very good for my life.”

      Kim Kardashian West

Despite ads on her Instagram, typical vices like drinking and drugs don’t do it for the star. Her sister, Khloe Kardashian, was quoted in an interview with Elle last year mentioning “Kimberly does not drink alcohol whatsoever. Pregnant or not, she’s just never been into it.”

      Calvin Harris

As fame rose his way, Harris found that drinking ultimately got in the way of his career: “My live shows are a million times better now. If you drink, you can’t even remember if it’s a good show or not — and that’s probably for the best, because it would have been rubbish because I’d have been drunk and not making any sense.”

      Donald Trump

The President’s abstinence from drinking and drugging has been well covered. During a speech, Trump opened up about his alcoholic brother who died at the age of 43. His brother, he stated, has kept him away from alcohol and other substances.
