I had 8 dui's, locked up in 6 states, 3 suicide attempts...that probably paints a familiar picture...only good thing is no one died from my actions....

I was 6'2" and weighed 125 lbs...I had enough....finally got into a rehab facility, I was waiting for a spot in a long term rehab & was granted a bed after 30 days...I still had court date in front of me but was told by the magistrate to finish the program I was in...took 18onths but I succeeded. I secured a job and a place to live with a support...I went to 8 meetings a week my first 3 yrs...got my health back - still 6'2" but now 185lbs!

After 24+ yrs of sobriety, I now own my own home, I retired from a culinary position I held for over 20 yrs, I am sponsoring 5 guys, there are certainty bumps in the road but I now have a life I only dreamed of!!! I don't need mind altering substances to love life - but I do need continued faith in God and this program to continue the dream!
