      Putting Recovery On The Map

      Name: Prashant Dash

      Age: 44

      Sober Since: 01 / 25 / 2012

      Sober For: 11 Years & 244 Days

      What it was like?

It was horrible. Failed pray to brown sugar during college days. Reached the bottom rapidly. Hampered each & every area of my life. It all started with marijuana, alcohol, codein, pills, brown sugar & switched to injectives finally. With a very weak physique & psyche, crawled like hell in life. Desparate to live normal & save myself. The desparation was so strong that i tried to end myself few times & didn't succeed. I had tried everything possible to come out from changing places, taking substitutes to consult psychiatrists. Finally in a rehab got the message of the AA & NA programme.

      What happened?

As i didn't have any option, desparately tried the spiritual programme in order to live, at least. The disease sucked the life out of me & ruined it.

      What it is like now?

Its like living again joyous & free. Its all about absolute freedom. Responsible enough to look after myself, my family & still suffering addict through a rehab, am working in. The sole purpose of life now is to spread the message of recovery & see others uplift their life through it.
