01 What it was like

Depressing. I lost a decade of my young adult years to binge drinking.

02 What happened

Coworkers threw a send off party for a buddy of ours after a 12 hour shift. Started in the parking lot. Moved to the bar until we closed it down. Then to a friends house for the afterparty. Last I remembered I was headed upstairs to pee... I blacked out. I came to behind the wheel of my car, driving, and being pulled over. Immediately asked to exit the car. I was so drunk I could not even stand up. Blew a 0.22 BAC at the station. Scared me so bad that I had no recollection of even getting into my car in the first place that I decided to give up alcohol for a while. 8+ years later, here I am sober and happy.

03 What it is like now

Incredible. Went from being single in a 1 bedroom apartment to married in a house that we own and a 1 year old daughter running around. Life is good!
