I woke up one day, after three decades of drinking, and decided, I am done. I went through terrible cold turkey alcohol detox, skin itching, chills.. but 7 days later I was over it, and over it all.

I just got tired.

While the reason I drank is always still there, I no longer see the alcohol as a crutch. My problems were there before, there during, and still here now, sober.
