Name: Jamie

Age: 44

Sober Since: 12 / 28 / 2018

Sober For: 5 Years & 113 Days

What it was like?

I was broken, homeless, lost my kids who were thankfully in an amazing foster home, i had been to prison, got sober for a bit but always relapsed, i was a self sabotage master. I couldn't function without a drink, sick all the time.

What happened?

I knew there was a better way of life. I was sick, staying in my car, lying to CPS, i had no one to turn to and no where to go but the streets. I wanted my babies back and give them the life they deserved. All i ever wanted was to be a mama and i knew i needed help. I went to detox and treatment and began my journey in recovery.

What it is like now?

My kids are home and have been for a couple years! My husband and i stayed together, 14 years this year and had another baby. I finished school, got my bachelor's degree, work as a counselor at the same detox center i was a client. My family relationships are restored and i am so grateful to be helping others.
