I got a taste of alcohol at a very young age. From the very beginning, I could never have just a few. I had to drink until I was drunk and passed out. Always blacking out. I drank when I was happy, I drank when I was sad. I always drank.

My life was spiralling. I had a DUI. Woke up in the drunk tank. I had the Ministry phoning me. My addiction was coming between me and my family. I was drinking alone. I had hit my rock bottom.

I went to treatment when my daughter was 3.5 yrs old. My sobriety is the best gift I have given myself. The rippling effects of sobriety allowed me to be the best mom possible. Today, I love my life. I am ever so grateful for my sobriety. The good life.
