What it was like?

It was terrifying. I was so sick and completely helpless. My brother managed to get me a bed in the detox ward of the hospital he worked in. Upon admission they had a difficult time deciding if I should go to detox or CCU. I ended up in detox and was told by my Doctor that if I had stayed out and drank I would have died within 2 weeks.

What happened?

I knew I had hit my bottom when I realized that I had been using the accidental death of my brother-in-law as an excuse to take off a week form work to drink.

What it is like now?

I'm in a much better place now. Life is life, it has it's ups and downs, but now I manage to live without having that empty, yearning feeling that I used to fill with alcohol.
