Sober For: 6 Years & 142 Days

What it was like?

My experience as an alcoholic was just like any other addict. I lost all my jobs I was accepted in, I couldn't continue school, I lost my self-asteam to look after myself, I binged drank for days just to feel good or hide my pain. I literally caused so much stress it took away my kidneys and now I live as a diaylsis patient. Having to live day by day from a machine.

What happened?

One day I was sooo hungover, different than usual and when I went into a walk in clinic they couldn't see much with thier machines so I hired to go fo a real hospital and that where I found out my kidneys were SHOT, 5% working. My whole life flashed before my eyes, my nieces and nephews I havnt yet met.

What it is like now?

Today is 2022, iam now 4 years sober. I get to see my nieces and nephews every day, I live back home with my family. As for being sober iam now a motivational speaker, a role model in my community, an ambassador to my brothers clothing line, im also a certified mentor coach and I practice to be in the BBBS, ( BIG brothers) program as a mentor to a child. I live back home in Saskatchewan and I speak on behalf of our people and the next generation. I help rebuild our youth and keep our culture strong.
