01 What it was like
I’ve been battling addiction for several years now. I had two years sober at one point, however, I had reservations in the back of my head. I got myself involved with the wrong people and I proceeded into a deep and dark relapse. I was reliant upon substances and drinks to function. My life was far from manageable. I destroyed friendships and relationships and was in a very dark place.

02 What happened
After moving up to NYC from Florida my drinking escalated quickly. I met someone in the program who had an incredibly similar story to mine. I went to a meeting and I reached my breaking point. I decided to finally surrender. NYC recovery welcomed me with open arms.
03 What it is like now
My life is incredible. I have managed to change careers into a field that I’m truly passionate about. I have gained so much self-awareness and made tremendous progress on my defects that were holding me back from being the best version of myself. I have incredible friendships and an incredible support system here. I have discovered inner peace and eternal serenity. It works- one day at a time.
