Healing Properties Sober Living

Healing Properties has run men's sober living on the same Delray Beach block since 2002. The operator says it stayed open through the years when the local treatment industry drew federal investigations, and that it kept to one model the whole time: the 12 steps, a sponsor and meetings. Some families call it a sober living home and others a halfway house; the operator answers to both and says the house runs the same way regardless.

The property holds 36 beds across six units in one central location. It sits on a quiet block next to the Delray Beach police station, just off Atlantic Avenue, within walking distance of the two main clubhouses. Residents in early or higher-risk stages of recovery may be placed closer to management for extra oversight. Others are placed across the six units based on recovery stage, age compatibility and stability.

Each unit has a senior resident with more than a year sober who works directly with the property manager and a CRRA. They meet weekly and stay in touch during the week to keep house standards consistent. Many staff members are alumni of the program. Residents also get job connections through the alumni network.
