Closed

Closed meetings are limited to people who have a desire to stop drinking or using. If you are not sure whether you qualify, an open meeting is the usual first stop.

12x12

The meeting works through the Twelve Steps, often using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions or a step working guide.

Big Book

The group reads from and discusses the book Alcoholics Anonymous (the "Big Book").

Discussion

A chair introduces a topic and members take turns sharing. This is the most common meeting format.

Literature

The group reads from approved fellowship literature and discusses it.

Step Study

The meeting works through the Twelve Steps, often using the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions or a step working guide.

Tradition Study

Studies the Twelve Traditions.

Newcomer

Designed for people in their first days or weeks. The format usually covers the basics of the program and how meetings work.

Young People

Young people's meetings are aimed at members in their teens, twenties, and thirties, though anyone may attend.

Notes from the Group

We read one step a month on the first Friday of the month, according to the month. Tradition on the last Friday of the month. We read the big book on the Friday's in between. Enter on Lake St. up wooden staircase. Chips on last Friday. Food and drinks allowed. Tea, coffee and sweets are provided. No dogs allowed. NOTE: Due to church regulations, dogs are no longer allowed at any meetings held in St. John's, including the sanctuary and meeting rooms
