Healing Hearts Foundation offers two levels of outpatient addiction treatment at its Memphis location: a standard Outpatient Program and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Both are structured for adults who are committed to long-term recovery but need to remain embedded in their daily lives — whether that means holding down a job, caring for children, or managing other responsibilities alongside treatment.

The IOP in particular is designed with working adults in mind. Extended evening hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday — running until 8:30 PM — mean that recovery support does not require putting the rest of life on pause. This level of flexibility, combined with clinically rigorous programming, makes the IOP a meaningful option for adults in the Memphis area seeking a structured outpatient recovery program.

A defining feature of the clinical work at Healing Hearts Foundation is its focus on trauma and co-occurring disorders. The foundation explicitly treats Trauma/PTSD alongside substance use — recognizing that for many people, the two are deeply connected. Therapeutic methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Seeking Safety, a curriculum developed specifically for people managing both trauma and substance use at the same time.

This focus is reflected in the credentials of the clinical team. Rev. Dr. Jane Abraham holds licensure and certifications spanning clinical social work, addiction counseling, and trauma specialization — including LCSW, C-CATODSW, LADAC, NCAC II, CCAD, ICADC, ADS, and CHP designations. Keith Henderson, a co-founder of The Hart Center, brings credentials as an LCSW and ADS. Together, they represent a level of dual-specialty expertise that goes beyond what most outpatient substance abuse treatment programs offer.

Healing Hearts Foundation is built to serve populations that often face significant barriers to accessing addiction treatment and mental health care. The foundation's programs are open to veterans, pregnant women, young adults between 18 and 25, seniors and older adults, men, women, individuals with HIV/AIDS support needs, those who are deaf or hard of hearing, and people entering treatment through the court system.

This breadth reflects a deliberate commitment to inclusion across the recovery community. Payment is accepted through Medicaid, private insurance, state insurance, and self-pay. For those who qualify, grant funding through the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services may cover the cost of the IOP and Addiction Recovery Program (ARP), expanding access for individuals who might otherwise face financial obstacles to ongoing treatment.

Healing Hearts Foundation is located at 1384 Madison Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee 38104. The center operates Monday through Thursday, with Monday hours from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Tuesday through Thursday hours extended to 8:30 PM to accommodate evening programming. The center is closed Friday through Sunday.
