Communicare Outpatient Treatment

Communicare Haven House offers two levels of care under one roof: medical detox and residential treatment. For people beginning the recovery process, medical detox provides supervised support during the early phase of withdrawal before a transition into the residential program. Having both levels of care available at the same facility reduces the disruption that often occurs when clients are transferred between unconnected providers.

Residential treatment at Haven House addresses substance use alongside co-occurring disorders, including trauma and PTSD — conditions that frequently intersect with addiction and that, when left unaddressed, can undermine long-term recovery. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the confirmed therapeutic framework in use, equipping clients with concrete strategies they can carry into life after treatment.

The center's roster of served populations is one of the more specific in the Oxford area. Communicare Haven House formally serves veterans, pregnant women, young adults (18–25), seniors, men, women, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, those who are deaf or hard of hearing, and court-ordered clients. This breadth reflects a deliberate effort to reach populations that often face additional barriers to accessing substance abuse treatment.

Veterans and active-duty families will find that VA benefits and TRICARE are both accepted, alongside Medicaid, Medicare, and most major commercial insurance carriers. For those without insurance, a sliding-scale fee structure is available to qualifying individuals — and Communicare has made clear that ability to pay will not be the reason someone is turned away from care.

Communicare Haven House accepts a wide range of insurance carriers: Medicaid, Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Ambetter, Humana, Anthem, Molina, and VA coverage. TRICARE is also accepted, along with private insurance and self-pay arrangements. State insurance is an accepted payment method as well.

For individuals who are uninsured and whose income falls below 200 percent of the federal poverty level, Haven House offers services on a sliding fee scale. The center's published policy states it will not turn away any individual regardless of ability to pay — a commitment that matters in a region where financial barriers frequently prevent people from entering residential treatment or completing a full course of care.

In addition to in-person medical detox and residential treatment, Communicare Haven House offers telehealth services. For individuals transitioning out of residential care or managing barriers to on-site visits, telehealth provides a way to maintain connection with the treatment team.
