What it was like?

Honestly, active addiction left me in constant misery and hopelessness. I wasn't able to function without using something to motivate me to get out of bed. It was like a vicious cycle that I couldn't escape from.

What happened?

I lost my home, family, children, freedom, and my will to live. I was broken and beat down. I was arrested and placed in jail due to the consequences of my using. Which by the grace of God opened my eyes.

What it is like now?

Today, I can gratefully say that I have restored my faith and hope in myself. I regained custody of my children, married a supportive man, and in just a short few days I will be graduating college. Not to mention I am excelling in my career as a recovery navigator, who helps individuals find treatment and resources in my area. Today I am truly blessed to be granted this second chance at life
