The ABC’s of Addiction: A Poem About Addiction

Any thing I like to do Brings me to a new hue Causing me to lose control Driving me out of my soul Ecstatic feeling is what I want Finding only a fake font Getting instant gratitude Hiding my real attitude Inching my way up a step Jabbing into a new fret Kicking myself in the butt Learning that I'm in a rut Making excuses all the time Not being able to climb Openly making big mistakes Pursuing whatever it may take Quitting things I shouldn't quit Running to get my next fix Staring blankly into space Tears running down my face Using anything I can Veins popping out of my hand Wishing that I was normal X-raying my life before Yesterday wasn't too bad Zigging when I should of zagged
