About Sober Nation

Founded over ten years ago, Sober Nation was created as a go-to resource for those struggling with addiction and substance use disorders. What started as a simple blog has since expanded greatly into a daily source for addiction news, a platform for hope, a collegiate recovery center, and a national recovery directory.

At Sober Nation, our mission is to raise awareness, combat the stigma of substance use disorder, and help individuals and their families find life-saving services throughout the country. Sober Nation is not a medical professional, but instead connects individuals to them. If you are suffering from a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911 immediately.

Sober Nation offers sober stories, addiction quizzes, and a nationwide directory of colleges and rehabs. Our purpose has always been to help individuals find what path best fits them to get and stay sober for the long-term while providing a list of quality and ethical treatment centers that can assist in the process.

What Rehab Centers Can Be Listed on Sober Nation?

We will list any facility that treats substance abuse as long as it has the proper certifications to operate legally.  However, if we find out that any facilities are operating unethically, we reserve the right to remove their listing with no prior notice. We wish to foster a safe environment for those afflicted with this chronic condition to find the help they seek.

What If a Center on Sober Nation Has Shut Down or Changed Names?

If you have updated information for any of the facilities listed on our site, please reach out to us using the form on our contact page and let us know.  We will follow up on each request thoroughly and do our best to update any outdated information.

Who Answers Sober Nation’s Phone Number?

The phone number that appears on the top of the navigation bar and elsewhere in the site is a sponsored hotline that is answered by treatment centers or providers which we have vetted and have the utmost confidence in their ability to provide quality addiction treatment.

The sponsored hotline may be answered by one of the following providers depending on time of day and location, however whoever is answering will always be stated along with the phone number:

Am I Obligated To Use This Number?

Absolutely not!  We want to provide you with the easiest way to geographically connect you with a rehab center you are seeking. The sponsored number is there for the individual who wishes to talk to someone immediately. If you do call that number, you are under no obligation to go to a rehab center that the sponsor recommends. We support everyone to recover from addiction in the path of their choosing.
