When Dual Diagnosis Is Left Untreated – Episode 105

Battling Bi-Polar Disorder and chemical dependency at the same time leads to a heart stopping high-speed Police chase…

Battling Bi-Polar Disorder and chemical dependency is nothing new to Chris. His story is amazing.

In this episode, Chris takes us through the high-speed Police chase that led him to five years confinement at a mental hospital prison, located in St. Peter, MN. Chris takes us back to high school then College where his bipolar disorder started to take hold along with high levels of alcohol and narcotic consumption.

Chris will also talk about the darker side of a mental hospital and prison – how he was treated and saw others treated. He explains the on-going battle to stabilize the disorder and how to better handle mania and manic changes without using to feel better.

Finally, we fast forward with Chris to see what he has overcome, what he is still working on, and where he wants to be in the future.

In this episode we talk about…

  • The dangers of untreated bi-polar disorder and chemical dependency.
  • How to decide to accept your situation and create a plan to get out
  • The dynamics of treatment in the St. Peter facility.
  • Find a way out, what didn’t work, what works now.
