Sober Nation Takes On Forecastle Festival

Some of the worlds best musicians will be on the waterfront for the next three days as Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY kicks off today for its 16th year. The festival has been a staple for the city. It supports local music, art, activism, individuality and sobriety.

      The Sober Sailing Booth

A breath of fresh air welcomes you as you enter the main gates. The first booth you see isn’t about whiskey or about selling you something; it’s about giving back. The Sober Sailing booth is there for anyone in recovery from drug or alcohol abuse. They hold anonymous meetings twice a day at 2 PM and 6 PM, but the booth is always open to those who need it through the duration of the festival

      Come Hang Out With Us!

Stop by for free candy, water or some much needed shade. The people there are amazing and they are there for you. The media has a way to make music festivals seem like they are a drug fueled, alcohol drenched experience. Truth is, that is very far from the truth, especially here at Forecastle. If you are thinking about coming, but nervous about it just know that there are people here for you who understand what it’s like to be in your shoes. Recovery is about having fun and loving the life you live.
