Happy Friday everyone!
Getting sober is easy. The hard part is staying sober.
Congratulations to Tim, who celebrated eight years of continuous sobriety last week! That’s EIGHT years. However, when this amount of time reaches us, we can still be just as close to a drink or a drug than someone with eight days. There’s a couple of things he did on a daily basis that he can owe his sobriety to:
- Making it until midnight
- Daily Inventory
- Working out
- Finding a higher power
How do you stay sober?
We Want To Tell Your Story
Are you doing something amazing? Amidst the devastation and heartbreak we hear on the news, there are many people who are doing inspiring things in the world on a daily basis. Do you volunteer somewhere? Do you give back in any way or help out your family? The little things go a long way.
Are You Maintaining Or Moving?
I’ve been toying around with the idea of maintaining my sobriety. However, if I’m just maintaining does it mean I’m moving forward? If we aren’t working towards our recovery, we’re working against it. Have you enrolled in our online course?
Navigating Grief In Recovery
Last week I lost a dear friend and her two young children to a house fire. Absolutely devastating. This was the most tragic loss I’ve experienced since choosing sobriety and the emotions I instantly began feeling surprised and scared me.
Enjoy Our Irony
We’ve taken a spin on a classic logo and have added a sober twist to it. We hope you enjoy our sense of humor and irony, because it’s always best to go against the grain. Send us a picture of you in our apparel and we’ll post it on our social media!
From Dope To Hope
Last week we invited Tim Ryan, author, speaker, and recovery activist into Sober Nation HQ to share his story. What is he doing to combat the opiate epidemic? There are some huge things, and no doubt we will be hearing from Tim for a long time.
