What is the hardest part about staying sober?

I think that the hardest part of staying sober is being vigilant about my recovery, and sobriety…it is very easy to lie to myself, and believe that I don’t need to continuously work a strong program: whether that involves consistently working the Steps, going to meetings as frequently as I should, or participating in constant service opportunities. This becomes especially apparent when things are ‘going well;’ I have previously thought, “Do I really need to work such a rigorous program? My life is getting better and better!” Thankfully, today I have the insight, tools, and feedback to know that the answer is YES!
